December Press

As always, we’re excited to share some JW in the press, including our second month in a row in InStyle

One of my favorite pieces, the Wide Drop Ring in Dec 11 InStyle. Our first major natl press was 1 year ago, Olivia Wilde in Dec ‘ 10 InStyle, so this feels very special :)

JW mixed with Oscar De La Renta in a gorgeous photo exclusive for Fashion Gone Rogue

I love these ehtereal images of Aleksa Palladino in the large Squares bangles in Complex

And finally a really cool MALE editorial in one of our one-of-a-kind patina’d brass Corset Cuffs for Fault Magazine

Trip Recap: Souvenirs :)

One of my favorite things about traveling is obviously the souvenirs!! I’ll never forget the hideous green nylon jacket with PARIS embroidered on the back that I brought home from my first trip to France for my 10th bday. Man was that thing hideous but I loved it! This time I came home with piles of scarves and textiles (Mom, Sarah can you guess which ones are for you?!), an armful of bracelets, some RAD cambodia t-shirts and tanks (now I wish N + I brought home more than our combined 10), and some insane skin bags + wallets that perfectly match both pairs of my Rickard Guy shoes! My favorite take homes include a huge oversized off white hand knit  silk scarf (worn in the photos below) that looks like something an incredible 70 year old lady would wear (this is my criteria for buying lovely things..), a stunning red Kain Ulos that was all hand done – the photos show the front and the back where you can see how it was painstakingly embroidered – and the aforementioned skin pieces.  I’m also loving the paper beads done by AIDS patients and the friendship bracelets done by a man who has lost most of his limbs due to a land mine. They are super special. Enjoy!

Bali Pt 5: Ubud Greenery + Our Private Pool

We had the best private villa and pool. Definitely ranks up there in my favorite rooms with ones from Bora Bora, Seychelles, Zanzibar… The view overlooking the hanging gardens was magical!

Bali Pt 4: Ubud In Color

Ubud was our favorite part of Bali, the Bali we had imagined. Lots of color, tons of smiles, and wonderful energy.

We didn’t go in the monkey forest (didnt want rabies!!) but these guys were hanging out outside. Love their expressions and body language. Made us miss Callie!

Some favorite scenes from town:

This was one of many, many wonderful Passion Fruit shakes. I miss them and am dying to find passion fruit here!

Bali Pt 3: Seminyak, In Town

Around town:

All over the town were these Absolut bottles filled w/ petrol. It took us a while to figure out what they were!

Sea Circus, a super cute restaurant with these amazing painted tables:

Also loved this teahouse Biku Bali:

Bali Pt 2: Seminyak Hotel + Beach

Our next stop was Seminyak, definitely more vibrant, with streets filled with shops, restaurants and salons.  Our hotel was on the beach, but the water was a lot stronger and we were advised not to swim in it.

Our super romantic dinner on the beach

the W is brand new and super beautiful, from the bathtubs to the balconies to the lobby

Sunbathing in our tub?

the main lobby, overlooking the pool and beach. Gorg!

View from our balcony

Loved the pools

Bali Pt 1: Nusa Dua

Our first stop in Bali was  Nusa Dua, with fantastic beaches, beautiful waters and lovely sand in a really serene setting

Cambodia Pt 3: Angkor Details

Here are some of my favorite details from our time in Angkor Wat

Coconuts. Kates was nice and cold. Mine was very warm!!! It was a struggle to get these as we were swarmed by about 15 women each of whom insisted we buy from them!

One of my favorite shots of Nick. The light is great

Friendship bracelets made by a landmine victim mixed with paper beads made by AIDS patients mixed w/ my own pieces

The Tuk Tuks have the best wood detailing and use of ikats!

This guy and I have the same resting face!

Me with an elephant. Another of KN’s pictures. Love the light

Cambodia Pt 2: Angkor Temples

The temples in Angkor are simply breathtaking. Definitely one of the most impressive sights I’ve seen throughout my journeys.  I’ll let them speak for themselves below.

Again most pics of N + I were courtesy of Miss KN

Sunrise at Angkor Wat

Cambodia Pt 1: Siem Reap

We stayed in Siem Reap right outside of the downtown area for our visit to Cambodia. From there, we were able to visit the stunning temples, including the famous Angkor Wat. The pics of Nick and I were taken by Kate. Its so fun to travel with friends who are great photographers ♥♥♥ !!

Loved the architectural and design details at our hotel

Welcome flowers in beautiful bowl

Eating our welcome cake:

Freaking out over textiles (I think KN took this as I was mid freak out)

Beautiful Kate in Tuk Tuk

We went to see  the Artisans D’Angkor compound and got to see some artisans at work making wooden and stone sculptures and jewelry. Of course I loved that, and adored seeing their tools, etc. So many are so similar to my own!

Siem Reap @ Night:

Just loved the lights over the river at the craft market

Night Market

Weaving

Back of Tuk Tuks

First night, yummy Khmer food at Sugar Palm in Siem Reap

More yummy Khmer food at Khmer Kitchen

Fish massage / pedicure  is really big in Cambodia (and Singapore) I most definitely did not try this out
